I did really like my 12/15. Won a number of matches with it. Mostly shot the Lapua made Wolf MT out of a case I had bought from Dan Theodore
Recently, what with my acquiring BSA Martini International MKII s, I sold the 12/15 to a young man who started shooting BPCR with us and now wants to get into
the 22 matches that are lately proliferating in WI.
I received the lastes MKII Martini yesterday. Pretty much as expected. Perfect bore, but needs the wood to be refinished. Cleaned it up last night inside and out
Scope blocks on, STS 15X mounted. Ready to go bang out the patio door today to get a rough initial zero while I wait for 30 degree weather next week

I also have an international - a mk V, but for prone work I actually prefer the 12/15, I'm not used to shooting a single point sling. The Mk V sports a Weaver T36 scope on a cantilever mount.
Maybe I should install a double point sling on it... That's BPCR influence to you!

I am finding that my International MKII Light Weight barrrel version is the way to go
at 11 pounds compared to the regular 29 inch models. It weighs only 1 pound more than my 12/15.
Should be a more handleable rifle for sling work.
The 29 inch at 14 pounds is just too heavy, except for a person younger and stronger than me at 81. Witness my
trying to use my MKII heavy barrel for a match including offhand phase. Really tough to hold for offhand,
even though a tack driver off rest. So, I have picked up another light barrel MKII. Much better, and
the trigger is fantastic compared to the 12/15.

Even the 12/15 was specifically made for prone work, it's a pig offhand. I stuck a counterweight in the stockbolt hole to correct the balance, but even then.
My Mk. V is even worse, it is a prone or bench rifle, period.
A Mk. IV ISU would be also a decent offhand rifle.
And yes, the triggers on the Intl. s are better indeed, but that doesn't mean the 12/15 is bad.
I actually use it as my winter training rifle for my 32-20 BPTR, built on the same action.

Neal and I are looking forward to your upcoming match at Merrill.
I’ve also found that my prone rifle at 14 pounds is too heavy to manage off hand. After the last match I made a palm rest for it but that proved to be of very little help. Martinibelgian’s description is perfect. It’s a pig off hand.
I’m hoping for good visibility on Saturday, in which case I’ll shoot in the traditional class with my low wall.

I hear you about that 14 pound rifle being toooooooo much for offhand. I tried my Martini MKII with scope, which
weighs 14 plus scope. TOOO much. So I now have a light weight Martini Int'l MKII that is about 10 pounds plus scope..
Seems to be about right to be able to do the offhand and it is still a tack driver off the bench.
