My 2 cent worth.
I just got my CPA action and new Shilen rachet 22 barrel back and went to a local silhouette match. I couldn’t shoot the whole match, just the 1st 2 animals. I put a DZ scope on the rifle Friday night. I had not shot or even seen if a loaded round would chamber in the new set up. I had no scope settings either. I got scope settings from a friend in a text, he had about the same set up, and had shot at that particular range before.
I was shooting Federal Gold Medal Target ammo in the orange box. About $4.50 for 50 rounds.
It was sunny, 30 degrees, and a straight 10-15 mph crosswind. Too darn cold to be shooting.
I hit 10 pigs, and then 9 turkeys. The one miss was my fault. My right elbow was on a empty spent 22 case that rolled when i pulled the trigger. My spotter even saw my shoulder move when I fired.
My scope needs to be moved forward also about an inch. Very uncomfortable shooting it.
I don’t know what chamber they put in the barrel. It’s a 28” with a #4 profile. Probably a bit heavy for offhand shooting but I’ll make it work.
I am very happy with my CPA. Money well spent if you want to be competitive.

outdoor groups on paper show 3/4 to 1 minute groups out to 22 silhouette ranges--------------certainly shoots better than i can see
CMP Eley cartridges
im betting that my grandson Caleb will perform better with it than i will, hes shooting AAA scores and will Master soon-----he surprised himself with 5 chickens last go round shooting my Shiloh 74 with the crossno liner
22 BPCR is all about the spotter and making wind calls---------it is FUN
Ill post some results from the 22 match next saturday

Hey Dave that's great to have a fine rifle that shoots great.
Young steady body will always do a fine job behind a butt plate. When I was 14 or so driving the old WD Alice down the lane between fields ended a lot of gophers from eating
It takes a chicken count to get into the masters. The rest are easy

Dave what version of Eley is the CMP selling?
I had a lo wall built with a 14 twist barrel, and it's liking the stuff that is close to 1100 fps. I have some high velocity match I want to try in it, but need the weather to cooperate a little bit.

Don its a special run by Eley just for CMP
packed in 500 rounds bulk in as poly bag only available by the case
almost everyone at yaupon that tries it likes it, as i recall $340 per case
you must be a CMP member

Caleb routinely shoots 27 to 29 BPCR and yup chickens are where its at
He's shooting 20 to 25 big bore in the same Shiloh----------recoil is not a problem for him, he seems to enjoy the harder kikkers--------

Thanks Dave, I was wondering about it, as I got a bunch of the Remington Eley stuff from Midway last fall when it was on sale. Carol's lowall really likes it, and my new lowall thought it to be decent. Was thinking if it was the same stuff, might be worth getting the CMP paper work done.

Dom my goto 22 cartridges are RWS match rifle (yellow box) and R100
this CMP Eley shoots right there with R100----In the liner and the new highwall------last time out, i shot a 35 with it that included 7 chickens----in my roller with the liner-----shot way over my head that day
some days are like that everything just falls into place, no matter the game

Afternoon Gentlemen
First silhouette match with the new rifle was good----my performance not the greatest
Pigs, first cleaned the rack-------turkeys, 8 missed 2 birds by not moving far enough on the spotters wind call-----------rams, a dismal 4 cause by my lack of concentration and follow through, rookie performance--------chickens, killed 4 should have been 6------so a 26 for 3rd
match winner was a 31
40 to 65 degrees, 10 to 15 mph following wind making verticle calls a bit tougher
all i all a good day withe a new qun, scores will only get better as i get
more comfortable
