Drew’s Hog - Stephen Borud - 12-31-2017 Drew shot this nice hog this morning at 80 yards with a Shiloh 45-70 480 grain PP Bullet and 69 grains of powder. The bullet entered the chest and exited out the hind end. Good shooting Drew! RE: Drew’s Hog - rdnck - 12-31-2017 Thanks for posting that Stephen. It was really cold, wet, and miserable this morning when Drew got a crack at this hog. A Shiloh 45-70 Business Rifle and a 480 grain round nosed paper patch bullet did the trick. Drew shot through the hog from end to end, and did not recover the bullet. That is about four feet of penetration, as Drew said the hog was as long as his Business Rifle and my Business Rifle is 47 1/2 inches long from the back of the buttplate to the end of the muzzle. This is the fifth or sixth hog that Drew has shot through from end to end. It is performance like this that makes you appreciate the traditional loads and bullets out of these buffalo rifles. RE: Drew’s Hog - Gunner500 - 12-31-2017 Good shooting Drew, and a Big Happy New Years Congratulations from Oklahoma! Thanks for the pic and story Stephen and RDNCK. RE: Drew’s Hog - Gunner500 - 01-02-2018 Hello Drew, come on aboard and tell us about this hunt.

Always wanted to do a hog hunt but have not got around to it yet. I grew up trapping so every time I see a colored hog like that I think about getting it tanned. Could do some interesting things with that! Cheers! Wade |
