RE: snow
Just 'fore that storm went past Kurt's, we had 1/2" hail out of it. Turned the green grass snowy looking Tongue.

Our worst blow was an F-1 about 1/2 mile south of us a few years back. Wind meter registered 90 mph.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

RE: snow
Been hearing about some of those horrific hail storms in you guys part of the country, seems early for that sort of nonsense.
The NWS finally got around to figuring out what most rancher/farmer types could of told em a couple of months ago.. this part of the country is back into the drought..

Haven't you heard Don, It's all California's fault because of their environmental regulation policy that is causing the worsening drought. They finally said it on the news Smile

RE: snow
Just in awe of that photo Kurt. That must be so frightening to be caught up in.... or even near for that matter. Of course we do get horrific storms and even cyclones up north but the concentrated energy of a twister must be something else again. Still no snow here Wink but the weather is gradually cooling off. Hope to sneak in a shoot by the end of this month. You guys try and stay out of the wind o.k. Big Grin

RE: snow
Snow in Australia is pretty much restricted to the ranges in the north of Victoria & virtually the same ranges in the south of New South Wales. There are pockets where it may appear from time to time but it becomes a news item when it does. Where I am the temperatures are often in the 40' plus range ( centigrade) so about 103-105 F in the summer and will sometimes get to -6 C ( 21 F ) in the winter. Hardly extreme by U.S. standards but lack of water has always been an issue for this continent. No snow melts to feed the grass or the rivers. We rely heavily on the rain for our moisture. Short answer Don ? ...No snow where I am. We have a few elevated areas within about a half hours drive and they sometimes catch a light fall... and then half the town drives up to have a look Tongue

RE: snow
Well thanks for the information. I was never was sure if Australia had high enough elevations for snow or not, I knew New Zealand has some peaks that get snow but was unclear about Australia.
