Been shoot'n 1911's for over 45+ yrs.
Carried one as a cop.
Powder-231/HP38 is the best choice. This powder was developed for this cartridge.
Wilson, makes the best mags bar none.
I load 5.6gn 231/HP38 under a 200 gn swc bullet.
Use a Factory Crimp die from Lee.
Get a case gauge from Dillon and ck each round loaded.

Don you might try burning that Bullseye in your 45 Colt. I used a bunch of it in mine with a Lyman 452190 clone.
