RE: 45 acp powder
Don, I am sure that there are a lot of excelent mags being made these days. The ones that I have from Wilson are very good, I have put a lot of rounds through them and have never had a mag related malfunction. I would purchase Wilson 8 round mags again and never think twice about it.

Just ordered a Chip McCormick from Midway, along with some other stuff. The Colt magazine I bought when I got the gun works well enough. Just wanting to keep the OEM mag for carry and have a couple that I can load when I just want to make noise.

Been shoot'n 1911's for over 45+ yrs.
Carried one as a cop.
Powder-231/HP38 is the best choice. This powder was developed for this cartridge.
Wilson, makes the best mags bar none.
I load 5.6gn 231/HP38 under a 200 gn swc bullet.
Use a Factory Crimp die from Lee.
Get a case gauge from Dillon and ck each round loaded.

Don you might try burning that Bullseye in your 45 Colt. I used a bunch of it in mine with a Lyman 452190 clone.

Lyn I might try that one of these days, altho a 38 special might be just the ticket for that bullseye...
Got to quit buying sharps rifles and depleting the gun fund tho. LOL

Yes they do and at a surprising rate. So far this year I have a 16 lb barrel 45-110, a 45-110 Borchardt, and just the other day stumbled into a real deal on a Shiloh #1 in 45-70 with a 32 inch standard weight barrel, complete with MVA long-range soul and baldwin front.... And I'm sort of patiently (starting to get impatient) waiting on C Sharps to get my 22 lowall with the 14 twist McGowen barrel done... Plus one of these days the pay up or die letter on a Shiloh 77 will be showing up..

That Franchi will likely serve you well. They are nice shotguns. I keep eyeing a 28 gauge at the local shop.

If I had a use for it , our local dealer has a 28 at a really sweet price.
