New rifle build

RE: New rifle build
Gail&Paul are very good people to work with. I have three of their rifles and each one is a fine shooter. For their standard grade wood is like upgraded wood form other gun makers.
I used my reamers for all rifles they build and each rifle is a very good shooter.
The lock time on the Stevens action is very fast with a lot of adjustments for the hammer drop or how far you want the extractor to pull the case out but the trigger adjustment is not enough for what I like for making a heaver pull. My last rifle has to light of a pull and it took some getting used to. I adjusted it for more travel before it tripped and this is working for me.
My chambers run at 4 degree/1.5 degree compound and the chamber is .474" at the case mouth for the .45-90 and it is proving to be a very good shooter.

Kevin you will build a very good bond with your CPA once you start shooting it. Take your time finishing the wood and it will be a fine looker.
I used to think the 44-1/2 Stevens action was the ugliest thing going but I sure have changed my mind. I have another one in the plans, a light weight .44-77 with a #3 Douglas barrel as soon as I get my reamer designed and ground. Tongue

That's a gorgeous piece of wood.
