P.J. Postel #45020 mould
Just rec'd this mould from a friend, and it was cut for a Shiloh bbl.
I know there has been different versions of the Postel made over the years. Is this PJ mould more like the original or?
Bullets drop out at .4584 dia with a .4483 'nose' dia using 30:1 alloy. Weight is right at 535gn.
I will shoot them as cast, and pan lube with DGL.
TNX,
Gary

Go here and look up the 457-132 and compare them.

RE: P.J. Postel #45020 mould
TNX Kurt-Kinda looks like P.J.(and Steve Brooks)followed the more current Lyman nose profile.
Looking forward to giving this bullet a go.
Plan to use the same load in my .45-90 Shiloh that I use for the P.J. Creedmoor. That's 85gn(weight)of Old 'E' 2F, w/.060 fiber OPW wad.
Did notice that I will compress about .040 less with this Postel, than with the C'moor.

Gary the only mould maker that I have seen that reproduced the Ideal Postell is Walt at NEI the 458-525 PB # 348-A

Thank you-I will search that out.
Looks like they have shut-down. Only find a drawing is all.

TNX Don
Looks like PJ followed the profile of the newer Lyman version.

Don the Brooks original isn't anywhere near to the original Ideal profile. Thee base band and ogive radius is not like the original.
I have never seen the PJ postell so I cant say anything about it.
