ML matches
The long range ML matches have me intrigued. Which caliber, bullets, and powder charges are most common?
Likewise, are there Official ML round ball matches? What is maximum distance? Offhand, bench, or sticks?
Many (most?) of us BPCR shooters started out by shooting muzzle loaders. I am interested in returning to those beginnings. Seems like life was so much simpler, and less expensive!

RE: ML matches
I don't know about the less expensive part. The Pedersoli Gibbs rifle that seems to be a big favorite with the long range folks costs about the same as a Shiloh, if you can find one. Then it still takes sights...
There's quite a few muzzleloader round ball matches around. The AZWins had about 8-9 days of them.
A wise man can always be found alone. A weak man can always be found in a crowd.

Dave Gullo at Buffalo Arms would be a good person to have a ML discussion with. He is a top ML shooter at 1000 yards and will get you started out right.
