Japchester Stock
All,

Looking to get rid of the current buttstock on the Japchester Low Wall. I tried CPA and Treebone , but no avail. The rifle sports a Badger Barrel and shoots great. The Japchester High Wall wood will not work because it is a straight cut receiver and the low wall receiver is dished.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Steve

Might try Pecatona stocks

Pecatona only has high wall stocks.

RE: Japchester Stock
YOu might contact Dave Crossno gun stocks and discuss the problem.
I believe they have a pattern for the Japchester/ browning BPCR Hi walls, but they might be able to use your current
low wall stock front end as a pattern to modify off of their Hi wall pattern.

I have a similar situation with a Brg Low wall traditional Hunter action with a 38-72 Krieger barrel on it.
My friend who had bought it from me lost the low wall stock somehow.
I, too want a BPCR Hi Wall pattern pistol grip stock on it. I have actually bolted a Brg Bpcr stock on to the action.
It fits, but the cutout for the tang is longer than the low wall tang, so as soon as I make a deal to buy the barrelled action
back from him, I may pick up a Crossno stock for it, telling them to do the rough inletting on the top tang short of their pattern.

You might ask Dan Zimmerman at DZ Arms if he can make you a stock. He has the equipment for duplicating a stock.
When I picked up my Hep he was working with a MVA receiver on one.

This is my Browning low wall. It sounds like what you're looking for. Have you checked for a Browning?

Gussy,
Yes, that is exactly the stock I would like to have on this 38-72 Low Wall Brg.
should I be able to buy the barrelled action back from my friend.
Shotgun butt, PG. Don't need a right hand cheekpiece on mine, though. I shoot left handed. The Brg BPCR pattern at Crossno's has right hander cheekpiece.

RE: Japchester Stock
Arnie,

Will a low wall handle the heavy load of the .38-72?
