Comm'l made wads are out there. I bought some 1/8" .45s at the Q this year. 100% wool felt from Sagebrush,
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

I used to make wads for my replica Remington with white cotton duck cloth. I cut the wads with a punch and "deep fried" them in tallow. They worked well enough.
