My # 3
Was going to Alliance but had some cow trouble on Thursday so we opted to stay home and tend to business..
This morning after we fed we went back to the house and got our rifles and some ammunition out to go do a little shooting.
I'm planning to use the #3 in Worland for the midgrange match, so I wanted to get the target sights more or less aligned.
This thing just flat shoots. It's had a total of 60 rounds thru it, and it shoots better than I could of ever imagined. And the good part is it's shooting the same loads that I have tested for the roughrider, with just as good an maybe in some cases better groups.
Thanks to Kirk and the crew at Shiloh, you've built another gem.Big Grin

RE: My # 3
The #3 has more drop than the #1 that most people get, and no pistol grip of course.

I like the Long Range Express stock myself, although I really like my new #3 with the ebony pistol grip add-on. The drop is a little bothersome at 500m and I wouldn't want to shoot further without an add-on cheek rest. But I think this sort of thing will vary a lot from person to person.

It's good to hear that yours shoots so well Don. My new rifle shoots very well too. I couldn't be happier.

Chris as long as I don't shoot the thing prone, but stay in the sitting off cross sticks, reaching out to 1k isn't much of a neck stretch.

I know exactly what you mean. Past 500m prone is an issue, at least for me, unless I add height with a strap on cheek pad. Sitting feels comfortable with these stocks, but I'm not a very good shot while sitting. I haven't shot that way a lot, but I have a hard time finding a steady position.

RE: My # 3
The first thing on the sitting sticks is to get them just exactly the right height. Then setting somewhat sideways to them get both knees up to where the elbows can rest on them solid. When a fella finds the right spot for everything it's just about as good as prone.
Oly Shockley's wins and high placings last year are pretty good testament to how well a person can shoot the #3 and that evile military butt.Wink Shooting a 45-70 to boot.Smile
