RE: Freedom Arms - Lumpy Grits - 12-11-2013 Yeah, that's why I'll wait till I can do a hands-on fire of a rnd-butt. Shoot'n a 325 gn GC with 30gn of H110 out of a 4 3/4" bbl is a handful. With my hand and shoulder issues. Not firing many full power loads these dayz. My favorite target plink'n load is 9 gn of Unique w/255gn plated SWC. Gary RE: Freedom Arms - Lumpy Grits - 12-12-2013 OK-No luck with picture post'n for me... ![]() Gary RE: Freedom Arms - APDDSN0864 - 05-29-2014 (07-07-2012, 10:19 PM)Lumpy Grits Wrote: Whos got one? Got a "Premire" in .454 and love it.Carried a Premier Model 83 in .454 for about a dozen years as my "bush gun" as I wandered Alaska. Finally got tired of the weight, so I sold it and bought a Model 97 in .45 Colt. Still have it, might be buried with it. ![]() Mine likes 8.0gr Unique under a Laser Cast 255 gr RNFP. 9.0 gr, which is an accuracy load in a lot of guns, opens up to 2.5" @ 25 yards. The 8.0gr will do 1.5" @ 25 yards all day long. I need to get a decent mold for it now that I have started casting and see what else it can do. Ed |
