Don, I know you would hate to do that, your such a kind and caring person, but if it makes you feel any better, one of the Siamese that I have is an original caliber, unmodified model, I think it is an 8X52, and it is really unattractive. The metal is all in all not bad but the wood is kind of oil soaked and very dark. The bore is very dark. Not really something I would want to shoot and it does kind of take away from the stable mates in the safe. It also doesn't smell all that well. A very strong odor of Cosmoline, so I am sure that all of its stablemates would not mind it being replaced in the safe by a canoe paddle.

Haven't fired a shot, temps been in the teens, winds up to 30+ mph and snow blowing around.. Maybe Monday or later next week.

Woohoo, got to shoot a few rounds today. Shot 2 patched loads and 1 greaser. Shooting at 300 yds, they all 3 would of given a 10 pig pin if it had of been a silhouette match, and the load with the BACO .396 415 gr patched bullet and the RCBS 400 CSA would of shot into the 90's if shooting midrange.This thing is really liking the 68 hrs of 1.5 OE in the Jamison cases.

What a bummer Don, it looks like I will not have to clean out and rearrange the safe to take that paddle off of your hands. Congrats on finding out that it really does shoot well.
I do have a serious question for you. I know that on the Sharps and my Rolling block if you open things up smartly it will toss a case clear of the chamber, will the Hepburn do that also? I have looked at some Hepburn's over the years but only to just look at them, have never opened the action up to look at its innards to see what and how things work.

It will give the empty a pretty good kick out of the chamber. I'm liking this thing more every time I mess with it.
It should make a very good midrange and silhouette gun.

Don that sounds good. That bullet must really be moving. I get an average of 1298 fps with 60.5gr of OE 1.5 in my .40-65 with a 400gr Money bullet.

Yes is suspect it's moving right along. The recoil is a bit stiffer than the loads shooting the 360 gr bullet. When I get a chance to finally nail down an accuracy load I'll chrono it to see just what is happening.
