32 is a great match------we usually turn out 15 to 20 at either our 22 match or the bigbore shoots
22's this weekend with my 13 year old grandson---------young eyes are amazing and tough to compete with
lets hope we all shoot master this next match

Norma Match on the ram swinger (200 meters) prone from crossticks in a 10-5 mph quartering from 8 o'clock wind. I don't think ammunition that would cost me for 3 cases what , for the cost of a case of the Lapua would help much.

Hi Kurt. Yaupon Creek just outside Columbus Tx. Finally turned into summer here. 90 degrees and 90% humidity time for sweat band and towels between relays
We shoot a buffalo match after the regular match Caleb (grandson) won it last match. Whupped me and 7 other master's. Fun shootin at 300 yards

Thanks Dave, that was shot with irons. That ammo and rifle still hold the x count title at Bryan Youngbergs 22 creed moor match, and has consistently placed in the top 3 at the Smithmoor spring championship paper target shot during the silhouette match.
I was shooting my Winchester lowall as my scope gun at the regional this weekend, and it was almost freaky, I saw just about every bullet thru that B5 scope leave the barrel on the lay down animals. (that rifle and a number of those Miroku's really thrive on SK rifle match)
Congratulations to Caleb for the fine shooting.

Irons "seem" more challenging with the 22 targets I simply can't resolve the targets any more with irons.
It is just amazing how well 22 bullets group at extended range Caleb held 1 to 2 minutes at 300 yards he had a ball
Kurt. We shoot two bigbore matches a month except November and December only 1 a month then. 22's once a month the 3rd weekend of the month

I thought I couldn't see them either. But a friend of mine that has been around the shooting game along time told me to try larger apertures,, he was right. I find myself shooting better scores now with irons than scope, and that includes using a scope on the same rifle... I also changed out my rear sight, to one that has two holes larger in the Hadley than the one that came on the rifle...
I also think seeing those little buggers has a lot to do with the spacing between the animals, and the color of the back stop, and the type of paint used on the animals. This weekend at the regionals, the paint they were using on the ram swinger was getting pretty plastered to the point it was almost impossible to see the bullet impact.

Hi Don----yeh i drilled out rear apertures and use the largest front round aperture, just can't get enough light through em to shoot well.
Even with the scope, when you get a cluttered up backer, its tough to make good calls on the impact----those tiny bullets sometimes don't leave much to see.
at 300 yards we have multiple spotters calling shots to have some confidence in making the best call-----and we have a steel backer on the Buffler
looking forward to the weekend match shooting with Caleb is always a hoot and he's one durned fine target setter

November/December would be just about right down your way for comfortable match shooting temperatures for me. I haven't spent time down Texas except for passing through and a short time wandering off base when I spent time at Ft. Chaffee Ark. Might be time to revisit.
