Brent Danielson also uses one.
I have heard of two reports that had accuracy problems with the barrel mounting on the action.
I will find out in a couple days what it will do or won't do. Smile

Fantastic Rifle Kurt! Do hope it shoots as good as it look's. My Shiloh 77 is entering production with my wood and my supplied Manson "Danielson" pp chamber reamer. I hope to have it in the fall. This will be my last rifle so I went with a few bells and whistles. It will be beautiful! Placed the order 5 years ago and now due to failing health this one will be the last. It will be special!

RE: Look what followed me home - Kurt - 06-21-2019

Are you using Brents .40-65 reamer?
Sounds like a looker and passmeon rifle Smile Are you going to use it at Lodi?

RE: Look what followed me home - Eric Johanen - 06-22-2019

Will be a 45-70. It sure will be! When I finally pass on it will go along with the rest to my nephew along with instructions on loading and care. Have been recording load info so he knows what to feed the rifles. He has loaded ammo and patched bullets so is familiar with the process. He is blessed with 2 fine boys so they will find a very good home. Mostly range time and steel matches as I find it very difficult to last out more than a 1 day shoot anymore. It's not so much the cancer as the chemo that sucks the strength out of one. (Oh, I finally seem to have mastered dry patching after a bit of practice so will be moving to that system now). Distant Thunder long range front and MVA Shiloh 77 rear base on order so I'll be ready to run some rounds when received. Of all of my firearms, the Sharps rifles have a special place in my life.

Kurt, you making smoke with that new iron yet?

RE: Look what followed me home - Kurt - 06-30-2019

Yes Gunner, a few over 300 after several ladder loads with different types of powder. It is a fine shooter for sure, but it's not a bench rifle I tested the loads. Got careless pulling it into the pocket and caught the bone.
The best 5 shots @200 was 1-7/8" and the worst 6 3/4"with all loads shot.
I will take it to Alma in a week and see what it will do at 500 mtrs.
I think it will make a fine long range shooter..........Kurt

RE: Look what followed me home - Gunner500 - 06-30-2019

Good deal Kurt, one week and some ibuprofen will have you ready to go, sounds like the rifle really wants too shoot, good luck with it.

RE: Look what followed me home - Kurt - 06-30-2019

LOL, the rest of the shooting I will do with this rifle will be off the sticks were I can roll with the recoil Smile

RE: Look what followed me home - Gunner500 - 07-01-2019

10-4 Kurt, when you guys fire for example, a 1-7/8ths 5 shot group at 200 yards, I take it you use some sort of good Vernier tang sight?

RE: Look what followed me home - Kurt - 07-01-2019

John the rifle came with a MVA soule tang sight and also a heal sight that looks like a XLR long staff.
John I don't shoot those 5-10 shot tight groups to often, but they show up now and then. It has been unusually quiet, lack of wind, but bugs are biting because of this.
I might mount the heal sights and shoot the spine position to see how that worked for the old dead guys Smile probrably will shoot my foot Smile
