Stephen , I am loading it as it was , I found a sharps book that shows the loads and the picture shows a 285 and a 265 gn bullet , the only difference in the two is the 265 is a hollow point , the cases we are using hold 48-50 gns with a wad at the top of the neck and a grease cookie and wad under the bullet , I can case a short 265 but the 285 gn length is a ral nice fit both in the case and the rifle , with the generous chamber we still are playing with paper to see if we can keep the bullets tight in the neck and still chamber , I just made 50 cases for it out of norma brass and the thickness in the neck should make a difference , I will know more after 10 sleep . as roger is headed there with it. if the weather holds I may make it as wll but am not really counting on it ,, at the moment,

Stephen you going with the Winchester scope on that?
Sure sounds like a sweet little set up,bet you're going to have to have more than one , just so's the wife and kids get to shoot one too

Dean I need to look in my book again, I didn't see the two different bullet weights! The originals I have, have two different bullets, one is a beautiful round nose and the other is a flat nose! I can pull the flat nose out and with paper it weighs 266 or so! The round nose I cannot pull out but the OAL of the loaded round is longer! Where did you read about the hollow point bullet?

I don't know about the scope yet, never have owned one, but I think it will be a shorter scope! Guess I better research scopes one of these days!

You can read a lot of those old first run editions free, or through the E books. A lot of them you can down load free and read them later when your away from Internet service.
