already have done that LG, just did it again, no luck
I take it that the washer slips onto the male thread end on reverse side of Hadley

YES, you are correct about the fitting.
Call MVA and have'em send you a couple.
In the meantime, you can use a small "O" ring too.

That is NOT a Soule sight .....
That is a Sharps type.

I love this site 'Old Jim', I know that some of my questions are probably real simple to the experienced and sometimes I even feel funny about asking some of them, yet when I do ask I get the answers that I need to help me to mature somewhat in this fun sport.
many times friends will ask me how "I learned so and so" and I tell them from my "internet friends" and I will add "those guys are good"

CL, your MVA sight does NOT use the plastic washer, or ANY washer, like the Soule type does.
You really need to call MVA next week and talk to them.
BTW, MVA maybe in TX for the NRA stuff.
