Cool Dave. With proper lube you should easily be able to shoot 3-5 shots without any problems. After that you can blow 3-4 long breaths down the muzzle between shots and shoot all day! I spent a couple days out at Orville Loomers cabin. Both if us shot our 50 2 1/2" Sharps, 100 grains of Fg, 3/16 lube wad and 473 grain pp bullet. We were shooting at a 24" steel bull at 412 yards. I got my barrel fairly hot, by blowing down the muzzle I lost no accuracy and had no leading. My last shot (#29) hit a 12" rock at 356 yards off hand. When you get a gun shooting like that it puts a smile on your face. 5 wet patches and two dry she was cleaned.

The bullet turned out a little lite at 461 grains, target weight was 473. The nose design is just a tad off from the original, I think that is why it's lite. Mold cavity was cut at .496 od, the bullet drops out at .494-.4925. It looks like I got the shrinkage down right but was a little out of round when the cavity cut. Target OD of bullet was .494. I casted 5 good bullets and weighed them out. All 5 were within 1/10th of a grain in weight. The bullet drops out of the mold without any persuasion. Overall I'm am very pleased how this mold turned out. I will cast a few hundred bullets up to give the mold a good run down. I ended up using a piece if my paper patch template material for the sprue plate, it worked out slick. A antelope or deer will fall to this bullet in a month or so. If you notice I didn't put any vent lines in. I noticed that the old Winchester molds didn't use them so I didn't either. When I cut the faces I left them a hair rough and the mold vents without a problem.

Dave I shoot pure lead, it ought to leave a nice half dollar exit hole in a deer or antelope. Yes I can't wait to cast some more of these up and get to shooting them.
