Howdy Gunlaker I took the sight along to the shooting match at Mifflin County an had Kermit & Bob Kopper look at it, they both said it look like an Axtell . I held our Buffalo Rifle match Last Saturday ,the Rifle and the Hoke sight worked great. You folks can get on our website an see what we do. www.mscrange.org you can also get on the Mifflin County Sportsman Club. They will have a 1000yd shoot this fall. Dusty Ed ![]() Dusty Ed
RE: Hoke sights - Don McDowell - 04-23-2015 Ed will that be a 1000 yd paper match or a gong match? RE: Hoke sights - Dusty Ed - 04-24-2015 (04-23-2015, 01:10 PM)Don McDowell Wrote: Ed will that be a 1000 yd paper match or a gong match? Howdy Don That will an extension of the gong match. We shoot 10 shots 300yd. standing ,10 at 400yds off the bench, 10 at 500yds. , 10 750yds. and hopefully 10 at 1000yds. If you get on their website it shows the Range. They have a 1000yd. paper match at the Read range , that is about 50 miles NW of Mifflin County. Dusty Ed
RE: Hoke sights - Nuclearcricket - 04-24-2015 Ed, that gong match sounds like fun and also sounds interesting. I would like to try to make it to one of those matches to either shoot or spectate. The Read match is a nice one its just a shame that they can not pull a larger turn out as that is a most excellent range. I was there last year as a spectator and to take some pics that I posted up on here as well as a shooters servay. I hope to be able to shoot there this year if all goes well and I can get my new toy up and running by then. Sam RE: Hoke sights - Don McDowell - 04-24-2015 Thanks for the info Ed RE: Hoke sights - march41 - 04-25-2015 Where can I find rules for Mifflin, gong shoot.Rifle and ammo types allowed.Single or lever and black or smokeless? Thanks,Bob. Thanks,Bob. Howdy March I have written in an early reply to this post, the positions and amount of rounds fired. You can use any powder, lead bullets only, single shot buffalo style rifles , just one gun an no lever actions. Hope this answers your questions. If you want to shoot a three gun match come to Mainville Pa. www.mscrange.org Dusty Ed

Thanks,Bob. RE: Hoke sights - 45bpcr - 06-23-2015 Kermit usually comes to our matches every month at the Ridgway Rifle Club. I have one of his sights on my wife's 38-55 C-Sharps Highwall, it's a fine sight and she does pretty well with it. Kermit's a great guy and a friend of mine. Ed, I see your range is just south of Bloomsburg. On our way out to Ridgway, we always stay at the Indian Head Campground in Catawissa. Tom, the owner is a shooter, collector and all around good guy. Plus, he always keeps a pull through site open for us. That's about 7 1/2 hours from our home in NH and it's only another 3 or so hours to Ridgway from there. In Theroy, I'm going to try to take the month of August and spend it shooting down in PA. I want to shoot the match at Reade the begining of the month with my muzzleloader, and Ridgway will be the 23rd, so that gives me a couple of weeks to poke around down there. I really enjoy being down in PA, it reminds me of how NH used to be.
