C. Sharps Arms did some fast work adding that pewter nose cap to my rifle's forearm. I sent the forearm back to them and here's another picture, taken just 20 days later, showing the rifle "wearing" its new nose cap. Also, a close-up showing the rifle with an Accurate bullet mould for a heavy paper patched bullet. I should do more shooting with this Big .50...

Nice rifles Mike, I've heard from a few that the 50-70 is a fun and effective hunting cartridge, the 50-90 is indeed a hammer, i'll hunt this new rifle a bit this fall, nice job and surprisingly quick time on the pewter cap installation.
I casted another pile of 750gr grease groove bullets at 16 to 1 this morning while it was cool, if we can call 80 degrees with 72% humidity cool ; ]

Yes, "Hannah" was actually built somewhat following the lines of O.P. Hanna's .44 caliber Sharps, about a 15 pound rifle. So, my rifle is actually named after that old hunter. I didn't know until "Hannah" was already built that Hanna's .44 Sharps was a .44/90. That wouldn't have changed my mind, I really like the .44/77.

10-4, and that's a damn cool tribute Mike, I accidently named on of my Sharps rifles, down at the low water bridge, and at the conclusion of a very successful weekend of deer hunting, I was pulling my ice cold dressed deer from the running water creek when a guy that had hunted with us ask me how I shot completely through those deer, a couple I shot through lengthways.
I said, no big deal for "the weak sister" to shoot through deer at any angle, we all laughed and went on, to my surprise, the next year he asked is I brought the 'weak sister' I said of course, so now I guess my little Shiloh 45-70 has a nickname too.

That's cool, and a good name. I've named only a couple of my Sharps. My "little" .50/70 Sharps with a 26" half-round barrel is called The Camp Gun just because it's always there, in camp even if it is never used.

LOL on the 'Camp Gun', that will work, the name "Thunderstruck" comes to mind when I think of my 45-110 bull barreled rifle, that 530gr paper patch slug with a 280" meplat at 1400 fps is a hard and fast killer Sir.

BTW pacecars, a 10 pound, fast [22 twist] 50-90 shooting 700+ grain bullets will be a handful Sir, getting a 36 twist and running 473's may not be so bad, iirc my other 50 weighs either 11 or 11.5lbs, it is indeed not a whole lot of fun from the bench, after 50 rounds firing at Rdncks steel I was in dire need of one gallon of liquid Advil and an ice truck ; ]
