Yes, that was one of them. This is a #1. I asked to have it re-chambered to 45 2.4, thinking that if this doesn't work I can still have it chambered again to 45 2.6 as Bryan Youngberg recommended.

I’d sure like to give these BPTR matches a try, but pity the poor guy that gets stuck with me as spotter. How about giving us neophytes some basics for spotting that can get us started? What should we be watching and relaying to the shooter? Which is more important, conditions at the line or at the target?

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 2.4 case.

You're a good spotter. Remember i've shot with you before..
But the basic's are pretty simple relay what you're seeing to the shooter , confirm you're both seeing the same. Then it's just a matter of making adjustments to where the shot marker on the target says.. Other than that there's not much to relay to the shooter, unless you see a change in conditions. Then tell the shooter to stop and look and the two of you go thru the confirmation process again...
And keep in mind the guy you get might be blind in one eye, can't see out the other... That's why you always want to keep a ground scope handy so you can confirm what you're seeing, where the shot marker is, and what if any changes you might need to make.

I'm planning on Byers next year and I'll take you as a spotter - I don't worry about the capability of my spotter - I have two eyes - I can see the flags move too. I just like some one to put a pin in the score board where my last shot went and tell me if the wind changed while I was lining up the next shot. I guess I'm trying to say - don't let your ability (real or supposed) as a spotter keep you from matches. Show up and shoot with us!

Try to make some or all of the March matches at Ben Avery in Phoenix. You will definitely get a chance to wring that rifle out and learn a lot about your loads at 1000 yards!

Evidently others thought the same. We had 5 show up and three left cause they thought it was too cold. Dave and i shot like it was a match anyway cause we wanted to try out some new loads.
Sun came out about 1:30 and it really got nice out.
