RE: Question for match directors and NRA rule wonks - Shadow 4 - 05-02-2013 Your Kestrel wind meter isn't on the banned list at Med rocks, if you want to see what the conditions are like before you go up to shoot, have at it. As a matter of fact drag out your range finder & make sure the targets distance is as posted. I do once in a while. ![]() Some thinks its funny to not have the proper distance posted, me, not so funny. Just increases the irritation factor, they start to build up & once given a reason to go somewhere else, people do. ![]() A shoot should be conducted with as little irritation as possible to the shooters, rules are needed but sometimes they become overbearing and burdensome. ![]() I've been wanting to buy one for 5 yrs, thinks me just might do it tonight. Thought it might be interesting to use here at the house, and then got to thinking. Also remember at the Quigley a few years back the fella that won on that particularly windy bugger of a shoot, kept coming up to where another fella that had one of those on his cart and I were sitting waiting our turn. Guy would look at the thing, and say "ya know those aren't legal for NRA", and go up to the line and get his stuff ready. That sure does sound good n fun though ![]() Guys, Just hung up the 700 yrd, set the posts & hung the targets at 500 yrds (24" diamond) & 600 yrds (36" diamond) I'll go out & shoot the 500 dia, to see if it needs to change to a square. & no don't ask knobs, he hates those diamonds ![]() Oh shooting across the ravines
