I stopped in and looked around in a new sports store yesterday and checked out their gun and ammo section and guessing with almost 100 rifles and shot guns in the rack I saw 8 that had wood stocks. The rest had black plastic.
Looking at that rifle makes me want to pull my .222 out again.

Yeh, but at the same time it might give me a good excuse to buy a progressive press with all the toys.
Another fun thing with this might be if I get around to finding a 60 gr bullet or heavier load that shoots lights out the little bugger can be used legally for antelope.
I ordered this one from Bud's online. Kurt we went to the gunshow looking for a 223 last week, between the gunshow and both local slobber shops there was not one 223 with a wood stock.
Dang kids and their cheap plastic toys anyway..In the meantime a great big Merry Christmas to you and your lovely bride. Hope we get some good visiting time in next summer.[/b]

Don, looks like Santa done good. If your interested in picking up a progressive press I would recommend a Dillon. I have an old 450 that I do love. They are pretty simple and very rugged. The only problems I have had with my press is that I broke the powder hopper and had a problem with the primer pick up and Dillon took care of those problems free of charge. Other than that, it needs to be mounted on a very sturdy bench to work on bottle neck rifle cartridges if your going to size in the press. Mostly I got mine to load .45's when I was shooting IPSC a long time ago. I can easily set down, and with everything situated correctly load 100 .45 auto's in 20 minutes and that includes checking the powder charge ever 10 to 20 rounds. Sometimes you can shop around and find a good used Dillon at a fair price.

I thought you won one of those presses at the Alliance shoot a few years ago.
I got one of the Hornady progressive presses when I did a lot of handgun bulls eye matches and they do throw rounds together pretty fast, but messing around with the primer feed, squib and double charged cases that press ended up under the bench where it still is.

Don-Been loading on a Dillon 550 since about 1987.
The few times I need'd parts, the "No-BS" warranty was just that. Dillon rebuilt the press about 5-6 years ago at no cost, and even paid for my ship'n it to them.
Of all the Dillon presses made. The 550 is pure KISS
I load everydangthing on that 550, except for 50BMG.
Still have my RCBS 'jr' press I bought in 1967.

Another vote here for the Dillon presses, if a progressive press is next. We bought a Dillon for my wife's bullseye pistol affliction, and she just loves it. She goes slow enough that she can check each case to make sure there is a single charge of Bullseye in it. A high number of shells/hour isn't as good as a reasonable number of precision ammo.
