shooting in high heat - chaneylake - 06-30-2012 I sent 10 rds to the 200 yarder a few minutes ago, wiping with 2 damp patches, 1-5 were shaping up well, 6-10 were crazy, wasting no time doing so, is this due to the barrel getting plenty hot or have I not perfected my wiping technique. the temperature while shooting was 105 in the shade RE: shooting in high heat - Kenny Wasserburger - 06-30-2012 Fouled out. 3 damp 2 dry for PP or maybe even 4 damp for GG'S once it gets above 80 or so I go to 3 right away. Try 103 and 4% RH thats what it was here yesterday. WHEW! KW The Lunger RE: shooting in high heat - Lumpy Grits - 06-30-2012 Kenny, what do you use for a wiping solution? Gary, its amazing what products are available in each of our areas, I went with the stuff that I am wiping with because I have yet to be able to purchase soluable oil in my area, I will continue to try, I hate ordering "stuff", maybe I should remove the hate, just saying RE: shooting in high heat - Lumpy Grits - 07-01-2012 (06-30-2012, 11:32 PM)chaneylake Wrote:(06-30-2012, 10:48 PM)Lumpy Grits Wrote: THX Kenny. If you have a local NAPA they will order it for you. You could also go to any local machine shop and buy some un mixed. It's used as a cutting oil and when mixed with water turns white like milk. It's vegi. base so keep it in the refer. when now with you.
