SPAM notice when posting a link.......... - Lumpy Grits - 07-11-2012

Bob, what can be done to allow us to post links here for folks without being kicked out for posting spam?
Have NEVER had that happen before on any forum I am a member of.

I've researched this some, and it seems that the most likely explanation is that someone 'modded down' comments you made that they didn't like. I can't say this is for certain, but if the spam filter provider saw that your comments were marked as spam on another site, it may assume your comments are spam here. This would be the result of someone trying to unscrupulously block out what you are saying on the internet, and it isn't going to work here.

According to what I read, if we unblock you enough, and mark enough of your posts as 'good', your reputation with that vendor will improve. Meanwhile, I'm still looking into it...

Be'n a cave-man, what does "modded down" mean?
Thx, for looking into this.

Imagine you wound up on a 'Barack Obama is the awesomest' website. Imagine you disagreed with that and posted something contrary. Now imagine that the operator of that site didn't care for what you posted, and decided to make it disappear. All they'd need to do is click 'spam' on it and poof, it's gone.
