RE: 1873 Winchester - Mike - 07-07-2016 Hey Ranch, Do you plan on burning black powder through that thing? My ltalian job sure likes 34 grains of OE 2F under either the standard Lyman bullet or Accurate's 43-205C. And right now my gun is getting drilled and tapped so it will accept the Lyman tang sight. The rifle shoots just fine with the open sight but my eyes beg for the peep. Shoot sharp, Mike RE: 1873 Winchester - Don McDowell - 07-07-2016 Mike yes I do plan on blackpowder in it, along with 231,unique etc. I have the Lyman mould. I did get a box of factory loads, and have an order sent off for some Starline brass. This one is drilled and tapped right out of the factory. Hope to use this in some lever gun silhouette shooting at some point. When the dust all settles from the nationals, then there should be some time to get to this and a couple others that are in need of some attention. RE: 1873 Winchester - billydixon - 07-11-2016 I bought rifle just like that one except in 38/40. It shoots sweet. I also have a Colt SAA in 38/40. I ordered it from Cimarron took about 6 months. One of these days I'm going to figure out transferring pictures online. Good luck on your .44/40 I have a Ruger Vaquero in 44.40 and it's extremely accurate.
