Seeking Original 44 slick mold design. - Caprock - 02-02-2018
Forgive me if asked before as my mind is frazzled. It seems that all the offerings have a substantial meplat. I'm looking for a tapered or straight base pour design with the old tyme round nose Sharps. I think some were posted in the past but have long forgotten details. If you had Brooks build a base pour with the original sharps profile, the bullet should look something like the photo above.

Here is what I had Steve Brooks make for me from a bullet I turned down using my lathe for him to duplicate. I had the mould made adjustable and they are a very close copy of the originals.
The one on the left is a 500 grain I use and the middle is the 485 grain I use for hunting. You might call Steve he might still have the cutter for this bullet.

The bullet in my picture is one taken from a Sharps Creedmoor round. It's .438 diameter, just a touch over 1.3 inches long, has the deep hollow cavity base typical of their swaged bullets, and weighs 460ish grain.
