C Sharps 1874 - Caprock - 08-02-2019 Well, I'm gonna try one mainly because of the short wait (7 months) and chambered in 44-90 straight. Pretty much a plain jane bridgeport aka Roughrider in Shiloh parlance with 30 in hvy octagon. I already have a 44-70 roller so this will up my 44 herd to four. Let the wait begin. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Don McDowell - 08-02-2019 Will be interesting to see how that treats you. If you can scare up some Jamison 45-90 brass it will likely shoot better than with the scrapline 45-90. Somewhere north of 82 grains of OE 1.5 will be your friend. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Caprock - 08-02-2019 Yeah, trying to chase down some right now. Whats with the scrapline brass....I didn't know there was a problem other than needing roasting in hell to anneal. Sam Pair on Facebook. Yellowhouse in some forums. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Don McDowell - 08-02-2019 Just don't seem to get the accuracy from it I do with the JBA. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Gunner500 - 08-03-2019 Nice, and congrats on the new build, no flies on a C Sharps that I can see, matter of fact, I have a hard eye on a 50-90 C Sharps bull barrel rifle, I may need to bring it home. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Kurt - 08-03-2019 Gunner your like me ![]() ![]() your just not happy with the girly calibers. You need that extra push when the hammer falls ![]() ![]() ![]() Starline is the only affordable game for us now and most of my brass is from them and it's working well for me. Yes I have had problems with certain runs with the 2.6 brass that had base separation but all in all it's good brass. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Hiwall55 - 08-03-2019 I've found that it takes about 4 firings with annealing between before it shoots without any fliers. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Gunner500 - 08-04-2019 (08-03-2019, 09:49 AM)Kurt Wrote: Gunner your like me LOL Kurt, you may be on to something there, I too have had good service and accuracy from Starline brass, I anneal the hell out of it, full length size, load and go, no problems in several calibers. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Gunner500 - 08-10-2019 Well, that mighty 32" bull barreled 50-90 C Sharps landed at the farm last night, what a cannon. ![]() This is going to be fun. RE: C Sharps 1874 - Mike - 08-10-2019 Gunner, what weight barrel does your new .50/90 have? I have a .50/90 by C. Sharps with a 30" #2 barrel, a 14 pound gun. Even so, I don't have a lot of experience with it, mainly shooting paper patch bullets. Shoot sharp, |
