Rolling Block Mechanic - Steveu - 01-29-2020 I have a friend that has a old military RB that has a plugged barrel. He wants to get it replaced and is looking for someone that is experienced with rollers. Any suggestions? Cheers, Steve RE: Rolling Block Mechanic - Don McDowell - 01-29-2020 Most any gunsmith worth the title ( keep in mind here we're not talking about gun parts changers) should be able to handle the project. Gunsmiths that come to mind are Sulphur Gulch gunsmithing in Parker Co. Steve Baldwin and Dan Zimmerman in Oklahoma, and Wyoming armory in Cody Wy. RE: Rolling Block Mechanic - Hiwall55 - 01-29-2020 What part of the country? I have a good smith in Missouri that's a great roller person . RE: Rolling Block Mechanic - Caprock - 01-30-2020 You didn't mention the model of that roller. Unless its a particularly desirable action I'd sell to someone wanting one for a project and then buy a 43 Spanish off Gunbroker for 5-6 hundred. I say this because unless you happen on to a cheap barrel and gunsmith this whole project could become a money pit. Just my nickels worth. |
