LabRadar - JKR - 10-10-2022
I’ve been testing loads with a LabRadar lately. Very interesting results. One thing that I’ve wondered about was how much velocity was gained by using a bore sized PP bullet compared to an identical weight GG bullet in the 45-70.
With a 530 grain patched bullet and 83 grains of Swiss 1 1/2 the average velocity was 1328.
With the same weight GG bullet and 67 grains it was 1226.
Extreme spread for 10 shots was 13 and 11 FPS respectively.
The LabRadar is a pretty cool tool.

I went with the Magnetospeed. Love it. All most went with the Labradar But did not know if the wad material would screw with the readings.

My good ol' Oehler 33 with upgraded sensors has served me well since the late 1980s

I really like my LabRadar it has been reliable and versatile easy set up and no screens to shoot.

It’s a battery hungry little bugger though. I went through twelve bucks worth of AA’s in two sessions. I’ve since ordered the rechargeable battery pack for it. Should be a good upgrade if it works as advertised.

With the rechargeable battery, my Labradar will run all afternoon.
