Long Range Load - JKR - 08-20-2024

I spotted for my shooting partner’s impressive 1000 yard win at Harris this past weekend. Neal’s long range 45-70 load is no different than his everyday, do everything, load. 62 grains of 1 1/2 Swiss, Lyman 535 Postell, .060” veggie wad, and CCI LR primer. Nuthin’ fancy!
His rifle is a very stock Browning BPCR. Badger barrel, 18 twist. MVA LR sight, Browning front with aperture.
Shooting was done sitting from the sticks.
So much can be said for breaking the perfect shot!

What were the scores from that match?

RE: Long Range Load - JKR - 08-20-2024

Don,
The first day was two 15 shot strings at 600 yards with the same number of shots at 1000 yards on the second day.
Neal’s winning score was 525. 291@600 & 234@1000. I was second with 293@600 & 198@1000 for 491.
Beyond that, I don’t know.
Jim

Sounds like a fun match.
Saw a video on Facebook Matt posted from Lodi, looks like they shot in "western" winds.
