Accurate Molds - Caprock - 03-04-2013

I see where they have listed some tapered slick designs for the 50. Thats good to know.....maybe a 44 in the future for me.

RE: Accurate Molds - Mike - 04-03-2013

I just got my new #44-400P from Accurate. It is a tapered bullet, going from .432" at the front to .437" at the base. Those figures are for wheelweight metal and with softer lead one bullet that I measured was .430" near the front and .435" at the base, weighing 402 grains. When patched with the 9 pound paper from BACO they slide snuggly into the case with the neck expanded in C&H dies. No shots have been fired as yet but I'm sure ready to!

Mike that slick of yours looks to be a good bullet. Did you see the greaser right next to it? Whoever came up with that one hit it right on the head for a replacement for that rcbs bullet nobody can get to fit down their barrels..

Don, I'll have to look at that one!

Ah yes, #44-400B. It looks like that one would do the job. I'll work with the paper patch first.

You got a high 5 from me Smile
I sent Tom a bullet drawing this morning and he said that he cant make it with out having a .18 meplate. That bullet of Mikes is just about like it. With that short nose profile it should fly pretty good in the 1/19 rot 77.

RE: Accurate Molds - Mike - 04-03-2013

Kurt, Let me get a bit more familiar with the bullets from this new mold and then I'll send you some to try.

RE: Accurate Molds - Don McDowell - 04-04-2013

Kurt I'm sort of getting the hots for that bullet. It's got a meplat at .20 so that's terrible close to the .18.
I'm thinking if that bullet would fly to 800 yds, with it's taper and all it might just be the ticket for a "Quigley" bullet.

Don, Keep comments like that up and I might send you the mold!! Mike
