I believe I have confirmed my Quigley load.75 grs old E 1.5, br2 primer, Jamison brass, muzzleloader specialty drylubed felt wad .446 rubberized cork wad, powder compressed to seat the short tank buster into the case about .4. 8lb seth cole patch treated with jojoba oil after the bullet is loaded.
Long story short 10 out of 12 rounds into the upper right quadrant of the 4-8 steel target from 800 yds, blowtube only for fouling control..
Also the .434 accurate bullet shot well, only using 1 wet and 1 dry between shots. But at this time it's not going to replace the KIK 1.5 match load.Very happy.
Tried some loads with the 2f Olde, but the jury is still out on that, but the cases are sure "clean" , now just need to see if I can find some real accuracy with the 2f.
I can see another order of Olde Eysnford in the not too distant future

Heres 10 shots @ 200 with the 58 gr. Old E and 525 BACO $ bullet from the 45/70. Looks to be around 2.5" vert. and 1.5 horz.. Very little smoke, and 4 patches to clean it up!
58 gr of 1.5 Old E is 68 gr. volumn of 1.5 Swiss, OK.

Actually, I might call the high shot IN the group and only 2 out
Compression is 0.240" and it was done very softly!
Next loads will be 62 gr., 64 gr., and 66 gr.

Jim,
I have 6 empty cans now of this powder and it looks like .210" to .250" compression seems to be the level that has been the best with the 3 shot ladder groups I been doing. The 2fg seems to like the lower compression and it has shown some very tight groups.
Weighing 85 grains of 1.5fg and 85 gr of 2fg there is only .100" less difference with 2fg in case volume.
From what I have seen so far this powder is starting to get my attention from the accuracy I'm getting with the .44 bn and the .44 straight.
I started to load this powder up for the Lodi shoot coming up.

Looking at the back of the target tells me theres 2 in the top hole, 5 in the long hole,one in the bottom hole, one @ 7 o'clock, one @ 9 o'clock, best I can tell
. Recoil was less with the old E, so I'll dump some more powder in next time.I'll take the chronograph along next time.
