my most recent Shiloh - Gunlaker - 08-10-2013
It just arrived in the mail.
It's a #3 in .40-65. I wanted this one to be something special in the looks department. I imagine it'll shoot as good as it looks.
It has extra fancy wood, heavy 30" barrel, ebony pistol grip and schnabel, along with custom bedding. It has been drilled and tapped for an MVA 23" scope.

I've got to get a mould and Redding competition seater for it, but other than that it's pretty much ready to go.

Beautiful looking rifle you have there Gunlaker ! The figuring in the stock and that ebony schnabel really highlight it. I'm sure she'll shoot every bit as good as she looks. Congratulations.

Is is almost too purdy. It will see it's fair share of shooting, although it probably won't come out if there is a chance of a rainstorm :-)
I'm going to put in an order with BACO today for a Saeco 400gr mould and for their Money bullet with the reduced driving bands.

I bought a BA 409400m4 mold with the first band reduced about a month ago. I have not tried it at long range but at 200 yds. it shot lights out. I usually shoot a 400 gr RBCS that has done quite well out to 1000 yds. But it never shot this well at 200 yds. This is in a 40-70 SS but should not be that different in your 40-65. I think you will be pleased with it.

Well it looks like I found a mould for my "parlor gun" :-)
I've got a couple of moulds ( Saeco and a Money bullet ) on back order from BACO, but they seem to be pretty busy these days so I called up CPA and they are sending me a Hoch nose pour mould. I should get it in a week or so, just in time to cast a few hundred bullets before the snow hits up at beautiful Gun Lake.
I've got a couple of those Hoch moulds for my tiny parlor guns ( .32-40 and .38-55 ) and they cast well but you really have to keep them hot and cast fast to get good bullets.
