38 LRN - Creeker - 09-20-2013 Finally a little break in orders & needing bullets for myself to feed a hungry 38 I fired up the Master Caster. The first of these manual casting machines I purchased from a guy in New Jersey came with a Saeco/Redding 928 mould. This is for the 38 Super though it can be used as a 9MM heavy bullet. The first ones I cast several years ago were plenty large enough to size .358 so tried them in my 38 & found they worked great. They are excellent with 3 grains of Bullseye but these days I’m running them with 3 grains of Promo & a HMF primer. These things move through a speed loader like corn through a goose. The MC. The Bullet. ![]() Round Nose ![]() Bevel Base. ![]() But not a bad bevel. ![]() 900 ready for lube RE: 38 LRN - Dan Cash - 09-21-2013 I envy you your casting machine, I think. Casting is not my favorite past time but I seem to do a lot of it. Your set up sure makes some nice looking bullets. Dan RE: 38 LRN - Creeker - 09-21-2013 Thanks Dan, the Magma Master Caster is a pretty simple manual machine which while slow does take all the stress off your hands. RE: 38 LRN - Dan Cash - 09-22-2013 How many cavities in its mould block? RE: 38 LRN - Creeker - 09-22-2013 This machine can use either a double or single cavity. That bullet is from a double cavity. I can dump it every 10-12 seconds. |
