New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 Finally decided what to do with the Brooks mould certificate I got at Raton. .434 slick 1.3 inches long at 459 grs. Should work good in the 19 inch twist of the Shiloh 44's and is heavy enough to be Raton longrange legal. Now to get a bunch of them cast up and trial by fire. ![]()
RE: New slick - Iron Coyote - 03-10-2014 Don Looks Good ![]() ![]() ![]() What paper you plan on useing? THNX LOTS Bob RE: New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 Bob I'll be using the Seth Cole 55w, it's 8# tracing paper. Stuff has worked well for me with about all my slicks. RE: New slick - Iron Coyote - 03-10-2014 Thank You Don Best of luck with your new bullet. THNX LOTS Bob
RE: New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 Thanks Bob I'm sure hoping it works good. RE: New slick - Kurt - 03-10-2014 I'm going to be watching your load developments with that slick. It's a shorter twin to my KAL bullet that shoots so well in the 100 but falls on it's nose with the 77 and the 90'
RE: New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 Kurt, this is Brooks' new postel nose. rdnck sent me some of his from a heavier mould and they looked good but that 540 grs was just more than that 19 twist would handle. Hope to get some cast tomorrow, and maybe get to shoot a few Thursday. RE: New slick - Tombstone 71 - 03-10-2014 Don, would that work in my 18 twist 120? Tim RE: New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 Tim it probably would, but I'ld think it better if it was larger diameter. RE: New slick - Don McDowell - 03-10-2014 I have a 500 gr 442 mould I could send you to try it you want. |
