New Trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg in 45-70 - Klaus - 05-22-2014 Hi Gents, do a first trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg Granulation. Have got tried some Brands like Goex,Swiss,KIK and Wano Nr 1 over the years before. Due to my 100 m / 110 Yards Range limitation here in Germany i come back to the conclusion that a lower charge could be successfull for this distance maybe out till 300 m/ 330 Yards My approved Load with FFg Granulation is around 65 - 70 grs For the Sporting Powder i take 65 grs first and my 457125 Gov. but results are not successful reduce to 63 grs. with a good result but will go down to 61 - 62 grs. next time. seems for me that there is a lack of accuracy in the 64 - 67 grs level. above 68 grs accuracy is good as usal No fouling problems with the lighter load, 10 shoot string without wiping only blowtubing with 3 breaths. Cleaning after 10 Shoots with 2 wet and 2 dry patches . ![]() Rifle is a Pedersoli Rolling Block Sporting No 1 with Tangsight and a Frontglobe shooting was done restet on Cross Sticks Klaus RE: New Trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg in 45-70 - Dave Roelle - 05-22-2014 Nice shoooting Klaus !!!!!-----trick for the pesky chickens is to do that group at 200 meters offhand !!!!!! As a side note: I have wondered if particuler bullet profiles "like" (are most accurate at) specific velocities-----in my limited experience the "money bullet" seems to perform best at higher speeds------------------i have never seen a comparison of this nature over the spectrum of bullet shapes Same kind of thinking applies to powders----do some bullets prefer certain powders ???-----again it might be an odd idea ----still i wonder Keep well and stay safe Dave RE: New Trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg in 45-70 - Klaus - 05-22-2014 (05-22-2014, 07:23 AM)Dave Roelle Wrote: Nice shoooting Klaus !!!!!-----trick for the pesky chickens is to do that group at 200 meters offhand !!!!!! Morning Dave, you are online very early at your morning hope the weather is fine today? your`e right the trick is shooting this picture offhand. ![]() about your advise for different bullets and their performance i`ll be with you but do have very limited experience. For my given distance the Lyman Postel and the Lyman Gov. Bullet do the same work and with less powder more that with a full load. I read some other threads where are similar results exists But for hunting purposes or long range a full batch of powder is needed for real. for me it works and safe money ![]() Cheers Klaus RE: New Trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg in 45-70 - Dave Roelle - 05-22-2014 Hi Klaus: The weather is just beginning to be summer in Texas--------soon it will be 95f/95% humidity, right now still pretty nice for shooting and a little pig hunting !!!!!! I have Postell, Money and Creedmore molds-----still working with the creedmore to find the best combination. Paper Patched the creedmore is performing pretty well--------more testing this weekend at the club silhouette match Have a great day Dave RE: New Trial with Wano Sporting Powder FFFg in 45-70 - Klaus - 08-05-2014 Some times ago...
