Everything went right today
Because the .44 Sage shot pretty well last week I cast and wrapped more for the .44-77 for the Quigley in a couple weeks and I had a bunch left over so I filled the .44-100 straight that I rechamsbered with my reamer with the 4º/2.5º compound transition, but I have not shot it for a spell. This rifle is a CPA that I originally put a Oregon barrel on that was a mistake barrel with very deep muzzleloader grooves that I spent hours on lapping with brass slugs I made and it still has .005" deep grooves but from what I saw after todays run drilling and tapping the barrel for mounting a scope. I even did this right because the front and rear MVA mount is centered where I have the front and rear on zero . The Sage bullet is a little loose in the oversized bore it now has, because I lapped out 2.5 thousands so maybe a DD will be the next step or I will use some thicker paper.

I took some old loads and zeroed the scope and when I finally found center I had 7 rounds left over so I raised the sight and shot a 7 shot group that put 6 rounds into a 1-5/8" with nearly zero vertical. I should have shot this rifle sooner I think Big Grin

This barrel has a 16 ROT and I used 83 GR of 2F OE under the sage PP bullets.

I think I will quit lapping the barrel anymore for now. Big Grin

I guess I never been there. I will look it up. That is kinda a long away around going to the Q.
I just looked in the closet and I have over 400 empty cases plus a bunch of odd and ends loaded. A lot of the loaded still have the KIK powder.

I have a pretty full schedule this summer. A lot of Family things with the cookie munchers going on this season. I cant even make Baker 1 or 2 this year.

Well if you're not going to make the Big Hill then it would be a bit out of the way. But if you were able to make Baker it'll just give you an excuse to come out and pan gold on top the Big Horns for a few days before Baker.

That would be the plan Big Grin
I would like to check out some of the washes in your area. The last time I was out your way I did just that and they showed a lot of promise couple miles south west from you.
