Desert International 2023
Desert Deuce is hard at work planning next years match.
Here's what he's come up with.
Greetings Black Powder Target Rifle Shooters of the Universe.
It is August and time to formulate the final course of fire for the 2023 Desert International Black Powder Target Rifle Championships at Phoenix, AZ.
The dates are March 28 through April 6, 2023.
Our fellow competitors Larry Wilkes and Robert Wilkes have been busy repairing the silhouette targets at the Ben Avery High Power Silhouette range, AND, they have ‘volunteered’ to present, for your enjoyment, a two day 40 animals for score each day, Black Powder Silhouette Match on March 28th & 29th.
That leaves March 30th through April 6th for final scheduling. Primarily what do the competitors want on the program next year? Eight days on the calendar to fill and the decision on the course of fire is up to you. Basically, what to do about the .22 Target Match or the 1,000 yard sight in day.
Right this minute, the schedule looks something like this:
March 28 & 29 Silhouette
March 30 60 shots for score 200 yards .22 long rifle cartridge with spotter
March 31 30 shots for score 500 yards with spotter
April 1 30 shots for score 600 yards with spotter
April 2 30 shots for score 800 yards with spotter
April 3 30 shots for score 900 yards with spotter
April 4 Day 1 Steve Rhoades Memorial 30 shots 1,000 yards with spotter
April 5 Day 2 Steve Rhoades Memorial 30 shots 1,000 yards with spotter
April 6 Day 3 Steve Rhoades Memorial 20 shots for score creedmoor (no spotter)
