I have a KOWA 82MM, IIRC. With a 25X eyepiece and a 20-60 eyepiece. For bullet-holes in paper beyond 400 yds, I use the 20-60, but for seeing hits on steel targets out to 1000 yards, the 25 is just fine. I think the mirage is easier to see with the 25x.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!
