I have tried the wads under the powder from news paper to .023" tablet backing and I must say, every one of the wads had a hole through them. When I use pistol primers. I use craft poster boards that is .012" thick and seat the primer through it and they get punched through.
Also I see no difference in the accuracy doing this Wayne. I have not shot these through the chronographs to see what it does for consistency readings.
I think it's security blanky to some using them and that's OK.

Kurt-Just try the coffee filter 'wads'.

I punch mine at .40 cal dia for my .45 cal loads..
