The .44-77
After getting sight settings for the rifle I will use for thr match here at Baker I pulled the .44-77 Hartford hunting rifle out and emptied 50 cases using the barrel sights and started on the 225 yard bucket and ended on the 828 yard buffalo. I think it's time I put a globe front and tang rear sight on this rifle and see what it will really do.
After a couple shots getting on the target that rifle will stay on target.
When I got to the Buffalo 8 for 8 and they where in the white or just a short way out of the white.
The winds are blowing 20 mph plus here when I shot the .44-77 using a 485 gr round nosed PP bullet of the original profile Sharps bullet.
The torque is a little heavy with the straight grip wrist but I'm impressed the way it shot.
