if you want a long range rifle the 40/90 will be second to none with a 13" twist and a bullet 1.550 long.
you will run 86 to 90 gns of 1f to the base of the neck, and have room in the neck for a grease wad under the bullet seated 1/8" in the neck.
for a bullet you could not go past a kal elliptical 0.005 under bore dia, and patched with seth cole 55w.
it will weigh about 450 gns, much lighter than a 550 gn 45 cal, reducing recoil, but keeping up to the 45 all the way.
rcbs makes dies to suit sizing to using a bullet patched to bore.
you might have to get the correct reamer.
for a dual purpose sil/long range rifle, the 40/82 along with the 40/72 are king of the heap.
about 80 gns of 1f with a 1/8 seated pp bullet, and down to 65 gns with a deep seated groove dia bullet.
both can be used in a groove dia chamber if you make the long range pp bullet dual diameter.
