I don't know what makes one lot weigh more then the other. A slight mix of more potassium nitrate, sulfur, or what ever makes it weigh more. But it don't take much to get it shooting again like the previous lot did. I cant say if it shoots faster or not. I seldom set up a chronograph.

I don't throw any powder away. Spilled powder, floor sweeping, unloaded cases all gets thrown into a coffee can. when the can gets a bunch in it I start classifying it from dust to several different size screens. The dust I use for priming the flintlock and the courser powder I also shoot in the muzzle loader and it shoots quite well. I don't waste any powder. It all gets used.
