Jamison .45/110 brass

Chris, following your excellent tip on case diameter, I checked out 1 of the new Jamison cases compared to 1 of the Shiloh .45/110 fireformed Buffalo Arms/Starline stretched cases I use. The Jamison case measured 0.499" diam. just above the rim, and the Buffalo Arms case measured 0.501" diam. at the same location.

When I ordered the cases from Jamison the lady I talked to indicated the cases were all newly manufactured, but couldn't give me a good answer on why they were 0.010" shorter than standard chamber lengths in that caliber. Might be a product liability issue w/ potential smokeless powder loads, although I can't imagine shooting smokeless in the larger cases

When you fireform them and then full length size them, they will grow .009 to .011 after full length sizing. I would say that they are just right. Shoot straight, rdnck.
