There is a lot of history in the Luger since Georg Luger came out with it. Even Hugo Borchardt had his fingers in it. Yes the same Borchardt of the Sharps when he went to work for the Deutsche Waffen and Munitionsfabriken of Berlin Karlsruhe back in about 1897.
The US also tested the Luger but turned it down for the colt 1917.
The Luger was also tested with the .45 ACP caliber.
You have a fine piece Dan. I put the Luger up with the 1911.
