Lead ?

That's not my cast. That is one I didn't record properly when I put it in my files. I don't know who gave it to me.
But what is interesting about that cast is the shallow grooves they used and the lead angle looks about like the Browning transition.
When you compare them with my .44-90bn Shiloh grooves.
Here are two casts of my two .45-90 bn's. of my two Shiloh's the top cast is the 45 degree that is now used. The cast below it is a reamer I had made from a cast of an original Sharps long range that was in new condition. It had very shallow grooves and a very flat 3-1/2 degree throat. The cast you see is a change I made to a 4 degree 1.5 minute because I did not want the long funneled throat. Now I wish I would have made the reamer as the original. I might send it back for a regrind if I ever chamber another rifle for that caliber. It's a great caliber that shoots very well.
