That was my concern, that according to her earlier/original interest (9mm) she'd be inclined toward handgun, which interests me not at all (in the semi-/ self-defense / fear aspect). That bein said, maybe we'll explore some single action (Vacquero? Quick draw?) shootin down the road. But in all honesty, I hope we've avoided the "black gun" phenom altogether, apologies to any who lean that way. I'm simply about the sporting and try to remind people that it's what birthed the NRA. p.s. As an interesting aside...I went to Costa Rica after law school, to wash my head out. Went to the Nicaragua border to live at Witche's Rock near Ollie's point. Before I got to the reservation I passed a weekend in the cattle town nearby and was befriended by 3 generations of a family sharing the one-bedroom unit next to mine. They asked me if I'd buy some vodka for an evening. I went across to the store for it, and from behind the counter the "more respectable" store owner asked me, "Is this for them?" I said it's for us. Next thing I knew there was a switch blade at my throat--"They'll cut you" he said. "Fine," I said. Just lemme get the hell away from you! That nite we drank on the sidewalk, all 11 of us. They only had 2 chairs, one for the matriarch, and the other for me. Nuff said.
