Dave I don't have a tang sight that has enough elevation to reach a mile. I figure on using the 77 with the Lawrence barrel sight with the blade. I used that rifle at 1585 yards and still room to slide the slide up more on the ladder. A mile is just less then 200 yards more.
We shot this Buff at Rowdy Ricks place in the sand hills at 1585 yards and I used the barrel sights on the .44-77. It took a few shots till I found it but the wind was up a little.
Rick has a nice range set up like the Quigley. Here is the buff we shot at.
