RE: smaller then bore slicks
so went out in the shop and shortened a 3 1/4 inch rcbs [norma] case and kept shortening it till i got it to chamber for length...wound up at 2.119 inch ... so i chamfered it and took it in the reloading room and set about checking the wall thickness of this shortened case before i cut any more expensive brass down. this one meassured out at .0135 inch...my remingtons brass is at the .013 inch...my winchester cases are at .011 inch. so they are well thicker then my winnys but the remingtons are so close i doubt ill cut anymore long ones as they dont meassure out thick enough to make the difference.

fully sized down the remingtons grab the .441's patched to .4465 and the .444's patched to .450 are tight enough that i felt the need to run my .450 expander in em to ensure they would seat without screwing up the patch.

the winchester brass is what i been using so far so guess ill give the remingtons a try as i have a boatload of em.

is the Jamisson brass thicker then the remingtons per chance? id like to play with the .441 inch slicks as they snug into my hiwall bore just about rite...the ruger accepts the .444's patched just fine so ill play with em in it to see what it likes.

i still dont understand why the 18 inch twist will not shoot the liter shorter bullets tho...maybe it is the thinner brass not filling the chamber rite and the bumping is screwing up the base as it tryes to jump and swage into the rifling....been getting pretty clean shoots tho without leading so most of the patch must adhere to the bullet till it escapes the confines of the barrel...i see lots of confetti on the ground and also the nice cloud of paper settling to the ground with the shots...sooo?
